Huntington, New York – With the Biden Administration releasing their proposed changes to the tax code to pay for an infrastructure bill, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-Long Island, Queens) has laid down a marker and said he will not vote for any changes to the tax code unless the State and Local Tax Deduction (SALT) is restored. The SALT cap has unfairly hurt families across New York and Suozzi’s call to stand up for struggling New York families has caught the attention of the national press:

 

Port Washington, NY – Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) held a press event at The Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington and was joined by representatives from the Paramount in Huntington, the John Engeman Theater, My Father’s Place, and The Landmark on Main Street to outline and highlight how the Shuttered Venues Operators Grant (SVOG) program, which was recently expanded by the American Rescue Plan, will help deliver crucial relief to live independent entertainment venues. 

 In response to the mounting anti-Asian sentiment, rhetoric, and the ensuing hate crimes linking Asian Americans with COVID-19, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D - Long Island, Queens) joined local elected officials, Asian American lawmakers, community leaders, and representatives from many civic and religious organizations at three separate rallies across his District over the past two weeks.
