Suozzi, who won the February 13 special election took his oath of office on the floor of the U.S. House, in front of a packed chamber and gallery filled with family members, campaign staff and supporters. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson administered the oath of office to Suozzi on a Bible published in New York in 1803, on loan from the Library of Congress.

This first round of funds represents one of the largest ever Federal investments for infrastructure repair and development and will help create thousands of jobs across the state.
