CONGRESSIONAL APP CHALLENGE

The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a public competition that encourages students to learn how to code and further their STEM education. Winners of the Challenge will be recognized by their Member of Congress, and their work will be displayed in the Capitol building. Winners will be announced in December. 

When Is It Due: Submissions can be made at any time between May 1, 2025, and October 30, 2025.

Who Can Participate: There is no age minimum. Students in high school and below are eligible. No prior coding experience is required. Additionally, a student may enter as an individual or as a member of a team of up to four members.

How To Submit: Participants must fill out a sign-up form that is available at congressionalappchallenge.us after May 1, 2025. Participants will be asked several questions about their app, such as the name, coding language used, possible improvements, etc. Participants must also post a demonstration video on YouTube and include a link to the video on their submission form.

Criteria: Submissions will be judged on originality, creativity, design, and the display of proficient coding or programming skills through the implementation of the idea by local experts and STEM business owners. A fully coded app is not necessary, but a fully detailed report is expected.
