Washington, DC—Congressman Tom Suozzi (D—Nassau, Queens), a first-generation Italian American and a member of Congress's Italian American Caucus, is leading bipartisan legislation to create a planning commission with the aim of establishing a Smithsonian Museum of Italian American History in the future. The legislation, The National Museum of Italian American History Commission Act, was introduced today (text of bill is attached) and is co-sponsored by Congressman Mark Amodei (R-NV02).

Glen Cove, NY - On Wednesday, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D - Nassau, Queens) visited India Home in Jamaica to receive an update on the South Asian Colon Cancer Health Initiative (SACCHI) project, funding for which he secured in 2022. 

Suozzi was instrumental in securing $500,000 in grant funding for the SACCHI project, which India Home led. This initiative aims to address health disparities and reduce cancer cases among South Asian seniors in NY-03.

Glen Cove, NY - Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-Nassau, Queens) announced that the Levittown Community Action Coalition ("LCAC") has been awarded $125,000 a year for 5 years from the prestigious Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Grant. 

The DFC Grant funds coalitions like LCAC, which establish local nonprofit and community support services for the Levittown and Island Trees school districts to combat substance use among local youth and adults.

Glen Cove, NY - In the seven months since Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-Nassau, Queens) won the February special election to regain his 3rd Congressional district seat, his two district offices in Queens and Nassau have delivered record-breaking constituent services. 

In the first 200 days, Suozzi staff have assisted nearly 1,000 families with casework, resulting in a constituent windfall savings of $1,470,702.

Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-NY) announced that the House has advanced bipartisan legislation that he is co-leading with Congressman Dale Strong (R-AL), H.R. 9668, the SHIELD Against CCP Act, to counter threats from the Chinese Communist Party and defend American interests. The legislation is expected to pass when the House of Representatives reconvenes after the November election.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-NY) announced passage of bipartisan, bicameral legislation to protect America’s border and combat transnational criminal organizations.

Congressman Suozzi and Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) authored the House companion bill to S. 4698, the DHS Joint Task Forces Reauthorization Act. The bill, which passed through the House yesterday with a bipartisan vote, now heads to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
