Glen Cove, New York – Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi announced he has secured 8 local community initiatives as part of the federal budget. These projects, which will have real-life impacts on lives on New Yorkers, represents Suozzi’s commitment to delivering to the people of New York.

Funding for these projects come as the U.S. House of Representatives passed a Federal Budget which will help New York families and create jobs across the state.

Glen Cove, New York – As one of the lead negotiators in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Package, today Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-New York) announced that New York will receive $1.9 billion over 5 years and $37 million 8 for the fiscal year 2022 in Federal funds for bridge repairs. This first round of funds represents one of the largest ever Federal investments for infrastructure repair and development and will help create thousands of jobs across the state.

December 8, 2021

Congressman Tom Suozzi announced he helped pass a Defense Spending Budget that provides an increase of over a hundred million dollars in funding for the Federal program that support clean-up of the Navy Grumman Plume. This money, which will go to the Navy Environmental Restoration Account, will increase to $465,550,000. It was previously at $355,000,000. This increase in funding means the Navy Grumman Plume, will have access to millions more in Federal Funding due to Suozzi’s career-long efforts of putting environmental cleanup front and center.

Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-NY), Co-chair of the Long Island Sound Caucus, held a virtual press conference to announce that New York Third’s Congressional District will receive nearly $3 million in matching federal grants for projects to preserve and protect the Long Island Sound.

Today, as a result of his relentless efforts to right the wrong when Republicans imposed a $10,000 cap on the state and local tax (SALT) deduction, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) announced that the United States House of Representatives has successfully passed much-needed relief to middle-class families in New York. In the House, Suozzi was one of the lead negotiators who struck the deal to increase the SALT cap to $80,000. New York State was one of the hardest hit from the $10,000 SALT cap. Now, it must pass the Senate.
