Members of Both Parties in Caucus Agree to Support a 'Clean' Appropriations Bill
Today, Problem Solvers Caucus Vice-Chair Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) along with Co-Chairs Democrat Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) and Republican Tom Reed (NY-23) announced that the bipartisan Caucus will support a FY17 spending bill, avoiding a government shutdown, if it is both a clean bill and without any ideological riders.

Congressman Tom Suozzi, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, returned from a week-long trip to Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Jordan, where he and other committee members met with U.S. military officials and troops stationed in the region. Other members of the bipartisan delegation included Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Rep. Keith Rothfus (R-PA) and Rep. Anthony Brown (D-MD).

This Thursday, April 13th will officially mark 100 days since Congressman Tom Suozzi was sworn in as U.S. Representative for the people of New York’s Third Congressional District. Since taking office, Suozzi has been appointed to the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Armed Services Committee. Adhering to his pledge to work with anyone of goodwill who wants to find common ground to tackle issues that affect his constituents and their families, Suozzi was elected Vice-Chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, which consists of 20 Democrats and 20 Republicans.
