Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) announced that he is introducing legislation that would award a Congressional Gold Medal to the 369th Infantry Regiment, commonly known as the “Harlem Hellfighters.” The Harlem Hellfighters Congressional Gold Medal Act will bestow long-overdue recognition of the bravery and outstanding service of Harlem Hellfighters during World War I. Huntington, New York – With the Biden Administration releasing their proposed changes to the tax code to pay for an infrastructure bill, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-Long Island, Queens) has laid down a marker and said he will not vote for any changes to the tax code unless the State and Local Tax Deduction (SALT) is restored. The SALT cap has unfairly hurt families across New York and Suozzi’s call to stand up for struggling New York families has caught the attention of the national press:

 In response to the mounting anti-Asian sentiment, rhetoric, and the ensuing hate crimes linking Asian Americans with COVID-19, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D - Long Island, Queens) joined local elected officials, Asian American lawmakers, community leaders, and representatives from many civic and religious organizations at three separate rallies across his District over the past two weeks.
