Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) announced that he is introducing legislation that would award a Congressional Gold Medal to the 369th Infantry Regiment, commonly known as the “Harlem Hellfighters.” The Harlem Hellfighters Congressional Gold Medal Act will bestow long-overdue recognition of the bravery and outstanding service of Harlem Hellfighters during World War I. Huntington, New York – With the Biden Administration releasing their proposed changes to the tax code to pay for an infrastructure bill, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-Long Island, Queens) has laid down a marker and said he will not vote for any changes to the tax code unless the State and Local Tax Deduction (SALT) is restored.
