Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-NY) issued the following statement after he joined President Joe Biden at the White House for the signing of the bipartisan Infrastructure and Jobs Act. The legislation will create millions of high-paying union jobs and send billions of dollars to repair New York’s highways, roads, bridges, airports, waterways and sewers – as well as to install hundreds of electric vehicle charging ports.

Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – NY03) led a bipartisan group of Members of Congress in addressing a letter to United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken urging him to speak out against proposed amnesty for human rights abuses committed by both state and non-state actors during the “troubles” in Northern Ireland.

Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-NY) announced that 108 Members of Congress have signed onto his letter calling on Speaker Pelosi to keep the $4,500 tax credit for union-built electric vehicles (EV) in the Build Back Better Act when it moves to the House floor. This effort led by Suozzi is backed by the United Auto Workers, the AFL-CIO, and domestic automakers. A copy of the letter can be found here.

Today, Congressman Thomas Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens), along with other Members of Congress, toured the Rikers Island jail complex and spoke with Rikers’ officials regarding the current state of the facility.

Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) has announced that the Local Journalism Sustainability Act has been included in the House Ways and Means Committee’s budget reconciliation mark up. The bipartisan legislation, of which Suozzi was an original cosponsor when it was reintroduced in the House in July, would help bolster local media outlets with temporary tax credits for publishers employing and hiring local journalists.
