VIDEO: SUOZZI ON HOUSE FLOOR, “WE NEED TO WAKE UP, AMERICA. WE NEED TO GET VACCINATED!”
Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in response to the growing daily coronavirus positivity numbers. As cases attributed to the more contagious delta variant surge, Suozzi called upon all of his colleagues in the House and all Americans to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated.
“People are saying I want to ‘live free or die.’ Well, they are living free, and other people are dying,” said Suozzi. “We need everyone to get vaccinated in our country.”
“Do it for yourself and your family Do it for other families,” Suozzi continued. “Do it for the country, so that we can stay strong. Please, get vaccinated!”

“Mr. Speaker, I have two unrelated topics that have really got me going this morning.
The first is vaccinations. Over 40% of Americans are still not vaccinated. I mean, come on! What’s going on? We need to wake up, America. We need to get vaccinated.
People are saying I want to ‘live free or die.’ Well, they are living free, and other people are dying! We need everyone to get vaccinated in our country.
Cases are rising every day. It’s becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated: 97% of the hospitalizations are unvaccinated, 99% of the deaths are unvaccinated. We need to wake up.
There are people that are poisoning American’s minds and jeopardizing their health in the process. We need to convince people that vaccinations are safe, that it makes sense to get vaccinated.
I want to applaud Steve Scalise and Mitch McConnell for finally getting vaccinated and promoting it to people.
You need to get vaccinated. Not only just for yourself, not just for your family, do it for other families, do it for the country, do it so the economy can come back.
Please, get vaccinated!”
