Congressman Suozzi Announces New Hires and Staff Promotions

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D–Long Island, Queens) announced several key personnel updates in his government office, including new hires and staff promotions.
Lily Cohen has joined the office as Communications Director, and will be managing press outreach, media relations, and cross-platform communications. She formerly served as Press Advisor at Third Way and is a Northwestern University alum.
After more than two years as Senior Legislative Assistant, Zoe Wong has been promoted to Legislative Director. In this new role, she will continue handling the Ways and Means portfolio and oversee the office’s legislative agenda. Zoe is an alum of Amherst College and Duke University.
Katie Cunningham has been promoted to Digital Director after serving as Press Assistant, expanding her role in managing the office’s digital communications and video effort. Katie is a graduate of Georgetown University.
Amber Kakkar will join the office next week as Legislative Correspondent. Amber is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“Lily and Amber will be assets to our team and I’m excited to welcome them on board,” said Congressman Suozzi. “I’m also thrilled to congratulate Zoe and Katie on their well-deserved promotions. They have been invaluable members of our office and we’re proud to continue working with them in their new capacities.”
Congressman Suozzi also recognized departing staff. After more than three years on the legislative team, Ivanley Noisette transitioned out of his role as Legislative Director to serve as Senior Counselor for Advocacy and Programs at The Leadership Conference for Civil and Human Rights. Julia Prager-Hessel concluded her tenure as Communications Director at the start of June to attend Duke University Law School, and Legislative Assistant Brent Katz will depart later this summer to attend law school at the University of Virginia.
“Ivanley, Julia, and Brent have been instrumental to our team, and we will miss them tremendously,” said Suozzi. “I’m sad to see them go but I wish them all the best in their next chapters.”
