Project Name: Rehabilitation of the Nancy Court Pump Station

Requested Amount: $1,000,000

Explanation of the request: This project is needed to upgrade the Nancy Court Pump Station in order to help the City of Glen Cove meet its growing water needs and to bring it into compliance with a memorandum issued by the Nassau County Department of Health.

 

Project Sponsor: The Colonial Farmhouse Restoration Society of Bellerose, Inc.

Project Name: Workforce Development Program at Queens County Farm Museum

Sponsor Address: 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park, New York, 11004.

Requested Amount: $200,000

Explanation of the request: The funding would be used for the purchase of new farm equipment and general operating expenses such as insurance, agriculture supplies and staff for their workforce development program.

 

Project Sponsor: Hempstead Harbor Protection Committee (through the Village of Sea Cliff)

Project Name: North Shore Shellfish Seeding in Hempstead Harbor, Oyster Bay, and Huntington Harbor

Explanation of the request: The funding will involve the seeding of approximately 10 million seed clams which will be placed in bays along the North Shore of Long Island.

 

Project Sponsor: Incorporated Village of Northport

Project Name: Dredging of Northport Harbor

Requested Amount: $1,000,000

Explanation of the request: The purpose of this project would be to dredge the harbor, which due to a lack of sufficient depth leading into the harbor has reduced tidal flushing which causes nitrogen and pathogens to concentrate within the inner harbor.

Project Name: Nassau County Police Training Village

Sponsor Address: 1194 Prospect Ave, Westbury, NY 11590

Requested Amount: $3,000,000

Explanation of the request: This funding will go toward the construction of the Nassau County Police Training Village, a police/law enforcement training facility that will support the Nassau County Police Department’s ongoing efforts to prepare its officers, and officers from local municipal departments, with evolving community policing standards, sensitivity training, de-escalation techniques and mobile mental health intervention practices.

Project Name: Northwell Health Geriatric Center of Excellence

Sponsor Address: 2000 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park, NY 11042.

Requested Amount: $4,000,000

Explanation of the request: The funding would be used for a hub in education and research as well as advocacy for older adults and those with advanced illness. It would be used to standardize and implement evidence-based programs that provide high quality care and can be replicated throughout the New York Metro region and on national level.

Project Name: Little Neck Bay Stormwater Management

Requested Amount: $600,000

Explanation of the request: The funding would be used for water quality improvement projects in Alley Pond Park, Linnaeus Park, and Udalls Cove.

 

Project Sponsor: Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center (JCC)

Project Name: Roof at Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center

Sponsor Address: 300 Forest Drive, East Hills, NY 11548

Requested Amount: $850,000

Explanation of the request: The JCC needs a new roof for their full-service community center providing a wide array of programs and services for thousands of community members. In addition to their Health + Wellness Center and Early Childhood Center, the JCC is home to numerous social service programs that thousands in their community rely on.  

 

Project Sponsor: State University of New York Maritime College

Project Name: Offshore Wind Workforce Development

Sponsor Address: 6 Pennyfield Ave, Bronx, NY 10465

Requested Amount: $795,000

Explanation of the request: State University of New York Maritime College (“SUNY Maritime”) requests funding to provide entry-level training for high wage-earning jobs in the emerging regional offshore wind industry sector for New York State residents.

 

Project Sponsor: Town of North Hempstead

Project Name: North Hempstead Beach Park Phase I

Sponsor Address: 220 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY 11030

Requested Amount: $1,000,000

Explanation of the request: This request would help fund Phase I of a transformative renovation of North Hempstead Beach Park, an 80-acre site located on the western edge of Hempstead Harbor.
