Suozzi To Be Recognized as First Democratic Member of Congress To Be Awarded U.S. Chamber’s “Advocate for American Business” Award

GLEN COVE, NY — Congressman Tom Suozzi (NY-03) was recognized today by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with its “Advocate for American Business” Award during a stop of the Chamber’s national Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour at Standard Bots in Glen Cove.

 

U.S. Chamber Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley presented Suozzi with the award, recognizing his bipartisan, commonsense approach to governing, his leadership as Democratic Co-Chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus, and his work on affordability, immigration reform, and other issues affecting American families and businesses.

 

Suozzi is the first Democratic Member of Congress to receive the award during the Chamber’s national Opportunity Tour.

The event was held at Standard Bots, a growing Glen Cove company that designs and assembles industrial robotic arms in the United States. The company provided a local example of the entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation the Chamber’s nationwide tour is seeking to highlight.

The Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour is traveling across the country for six weeks, visiting 20 states and holding more than 50 events highlighting local businesses, employers, workers, and community leaders. The tour is designed to showcase the role of entrepreneurship, innovation, competition, and economic growth in creating jobs and opportunity.

 

The tour is part of the U.S. Chamber’s New Fight for Free Enterprise, a multi-year initiative to promote free enterprise and highlight businesses and entrepreneurs in communities across the country.
